Biography
Reefa Nawar is a Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at United International University. She holds a Bachelor of Science (2022) and a Master of Science (2023) from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Dhaka. Following her graduation, she was engaged in research investigating the association of potentially deleterious single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with the occurrence of gestational diabetes mellitus in Bangladeshi women, as well as elucidating their mechanisms of action.
She has completed specialized training in biosafety, animal cell culture, and advanced CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing technology. Her exceptional performance in the biosafety and animal cell culture training program earned her the Award of Excellence from the Centre for Advanced Research, University of Dhaka.
With a vision to advance her career in academia, Reefa Nawar is committed to creating transformative educational experiences for students while pursuing research. Her future research interests lie in exploring underlying human metabolic disorders.
