Laboratory overview

Proteomics and metabolomics generate valuable data that can provide biologists with a comprehensive view of global proteome and metabolome changes. Metabolomics plays a crucial role in identifying predictive biomarkers for diseases and serves as a foundation for understanding the underlying pathophysiologic mechanisms. By analyzing these biomarkers, targeted drug therapies can be more effectively developed.

Proteomics, on the other hand, helps to reveal how protein expression varies across different cells and tissues, in physiological and pathological conditions.

HPLC

Our advanced HPLC instrumentation from Waters, USA enables us to tackle a wide range of biological challenges in both metabolomics and proteomics. Using HPLC, we can identify and analyze metabolites from various biological specimens.

Thermal Cycler 100

We have Thermal Cycler 100 (Bio-Rad USA), which can be used for amplifying nucleic acids by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Since, PCR can amplify nucleic acids into millions of copies from a small sample, PCR machines proved invaluable during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NanoDrop

Additionally, we have a NanoDrop (Thermo Scientific, USA), which serves multiple functions such as measuring nucleic acid and protein concentrations, assessing nucleic acid purity, and performing quality control prior to sequencing. We will also be able to identify, isolate, and examine post-translational modifications in proteins.

Chemidoc

Furthermore, we have Chemidoc (Bio-Rad USA),short for “Chemiluminescent Documentation,” is a specialized imaging system used in various biochemical and molecular biology applications. We can use this for genotyping, PCR product analysis, protein expression, and also in other analysis.
