Laboratory overview

Our Organic & Biochemical Laboratory is highly equipped with modern and upgraded high-quality instruments to provide the opportunity to research in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and related fields. In this lab students can learn the very basic techniques about solution, solute, solvent, molarity, normality, titration etc. The laboratory will help in the fundamental training of chemistry and allow the students to experience basic research protocols, precise and efficient measurement of chemicals and reagents with safe handling.

Fume Hood

The fume hood ensures the safe handling of volatile, hazardous, or toxic chemicals by ventilating harmful fumes away from the workspace.

PH Meter

pH meter is used to measure the acidity or alkalinity (pH) of a solution with high precision. pH meter is crucial for preparing buffer solutions, monitoring chemical reactions in various experiments and biological samples.

Drying Oven

Drying oven is used to remove moisture from samples, glassware, or chemicals by heating them. It ensures dry and clean materials, essential for accurate experimental results and reduces variability.

Vacuum Pump

The vacuum pump generates a vacuum to facilitate processes such as filtration, distillation, or drying under reduced pressure.

Digital Balance

Digital balance provides highly accurate mass measurements of solids or powders. This is a fundamental tool for preparing solutions, measuring reagents, and conducting quantitative analyses.

Water Bath

Water Bath is used to maintain stable and uniform temperatures for heating samples gently. It is crucial for processes like enzymatic reactions, warming up cell culture media, and melting or thawing of frozen samples.

Hotplate with Magnetic Stirrer

Hotplate with Magnetic Stirrer is a dual-purpose instrument combines heating and stirring functionalities. At the same time, it is ideal for dissolving solids, preparing solutions, and conducting reactions that require uniform mixing in a controlled temperature.

Distillation Apparatus

The distillation apparatus is used for separating components of a mixture based on their boiling points.

Refrigerator

Refrigerator provides cold storage for temperature-sensitive chemicals, biological samples, and reagents in +4^oC.
